1. License to use the app
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PassWords on devices you own or control, for lawful personal or business purposes, subject to these terms and applicable store rules. The app and its intellectual property remain with the developer and relevant rights holders. You retain your rights to the data you enter.
2. Your device, data and backups
You are responsible for the information you save, your device security, master password and backup archives. Only store information you are entitled to use. Keep regular independent backups and verify them before changing devices, resetting the app or installing updates.
The app is a local utility, not a hosted backup or password-recovery service. The developer cannot reset your master password or recover a lost local vault. Device loss, deletion, a forgotten password, operating system changes or damaged files can make data inaccessible.
3. Availability and features
Features may vary between Android, iOS, app versions and purchase status. Biometric unlock requires compatible hardware and system support. External apps, store services and exported file formats are subject to their own availability and conditions. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every device.
4. Optional purchases
Optional Pro features are purchased through Google Play or Apple’s App Store. The store displays the current price, taxes and applicable purchase conditions before confirmation. Billing, refunds and purchase restoration are governed by the store’s rules and applicable consumer law.
Do not assume that a purchase transfers between different stores or platforms. If a paid feature is unavailable after a valid purchase, contact support with the relevant store order reference, without sending payment card details.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the app unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, distribute unauthorized copies or bypass purchase restrictions. Restrictions on modification or reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law; rights that cannot legally be restricted remain unaffected.
6. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, device permissions, exports, purchases and support communications. External storage, email and sharing services you choose are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided as available without additional promises of error-free operation or recovery of lost data. The developer’s liability is limited only where such a limitation is lawful.
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights, statutory warranties or liability that cannot be excluded, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct or other circumstances protected by applicable law.
8. Updates and changes
The app and these terms may change as features and platform requirements evolve. The current revision date is shown on this page. Material changes will be communicated where required. Changes do not remove mandatory rights or retroactively alter completed purchases contrary to applicable law. You may stop using the app; export necessary data before deleting it.
9. Applicable rights and contact
Applicable mandatory law, including consumer protections in your place of residence, continues to apply. These terms do not require you to give up rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
